About The Event
Nature Fest is a four-day celebration of nature’s treasures in and around the Upper Cumberland. It includes hikes, lectures, workshops, presentations, and hands-on activities for all ages. The event is free and held at Pennebaker Hall on Tennessee Tech University’s campus, Cane Creek Park in Cookeville, and Ensor Sink Natural Area.
Nature Fest began in 2005 as an effort to showcase and learn more about the magical world of nature in Putnam County and the surrounding area. We are fortunate to have an abundance of opportunities to enjoy nature: on lakes, in parks, along creeks, in forests, on trails, and even in our own backyards.
We have tapped into the wealth of knowledgeable people willing to share their expertise through hikes, lectures, workshops, presentations and activities that focus on our land, water, air and animals. Combine these resources with the expertise and you have Nature Fest. Each year the event grows bigger and better with new speakers, topics and activities.
Nature Fest is presented by the Cookeville Department of Leisure Services, Tennessee Tech University Biology Department, Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce and the Nature Fest planning committee.
Be sure to check out the 2013 schedule of events and plan to attend the only event of its kind in the Upper Cumberland!
